France sees a 400% increase in Chinese learners

China is currently the world’s second economic power and could become the world’s top economic power as early as 2016 some say – the world’s two biggest company already are Chinese. This trend of increasingly numerous Chinese learners therefore looks like it’s here to stay. Miaw!
Increase in Chinese learners, now set to rule France
In the past 10 years, the number of French students learning Chinese has greatly increased, this article [in French] reports. Nearly 40 000 students are now studying Chinese throughout the country. Mandarin Chinese is now the 5th most popular foreign language to learn in France as more and more students turn to Chinese in hopes of guaranteeing themselves a better career.
However, there’s a lack of Chinese teachers pretty much everywhere, as Chinese took off really fast in a fairly short period of time. Chinese teachers, now’s your time to shine!
